It’s interesting what a bag of Doritos can say about your personality. Take this one for instance:

Sure it looks like an ordinary bag of Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos, but in fact it is a walking personality evaluation.
See, said bag of Doritos was at my preferred Giant supermarket. And said bag of Doritos clearly was labeled as on sale for $1.99. Now, I know a lot of you probably aren’t following the price of Doritos very closely, but that’s an amazing $2.00 off the normal price of $3.99. And when you’re living off a ministry salary, $2.00 is a lot!
However, when I went to the self-checkout (another indicator of personality types…do you use self-checkout or do you prefer to actually interact with a human being when you are shopping?) I scanned my bonus card, and then proceeded to scan the Doritos, which scanned as $3.99!
As you can imagine, I was greatly dismayed at this, and proceeded to scan the rest of my groceries without incident.
Now, some of you are saying to yourself, “Why didn’t he ask someone about the Doritos? I would have.”
And that is how the Doritos have evaluated my personality. They have proven that I would rather suck it up and suffer the loss of $2.00 I thought I had saved (and rightly should have saved!) than to cause a ruckus about some stupid chips.
So. If you had faced the same situation, what would you have done?

Taking a quick break from the past 11 days or so of “Ryan uploading ridiculous pictures to his blog.”
I have insomnia right now. It’s currently 3:00 am in Northern Virginia and I cannot get to sleep. So that’s why I’m here.
What do you do when you have a choice(or decision…) between something you don’t really have experience at and no real reason to think that you’d be all that good at, but you think would be a ton of fun or something you’ve got experience at and have pretty good reason to think that you’d be pretty good at it, but, while it would still be a bunch of fun, might not seem as much fun/glamorous?
I guess that makes no sense, so let’s lay it out in a ministry context:
If you’re looking to volunteer, do you volunteer where it looks like you’d enjoy yourself the most (the first scenario) or where you’d be able to offer the most (the second scenario)?
When it’s laid out like that, the first choice appears a bit self-centered, while the second choice seems to be the choice that although it requires a bit of sacrifice, in the end greater satisfaction comes from it through knowing that you’re playing the part God designed you to play in His story.
Looking back, this is a pretty ridiculous question, huh? Of course, most questions look that way when we write them out and don’t allow our thoughts to fly all over and cloud it up…
And thus, I have tentatively solved a dilemma at 3:02 am on my blog. Hooray internal dialogue/insomnia! (This is the part that makes no sense because I’m tired…)

So my sister and I saw this while driving the other day. There really are no words to describe how funny this was.

Not every day you see Santa strapped to the back of a Semi…
