I just spent an entire weekend with candidates for the Future Leaders Program.
It was honestly a bit weird to think that just a year ago I was in the same position they were in, trying to see what God had in store for me. It was really encouraging though, because I see the Future Leaders Program is going to be as strong as ever next year.
There are a bunch of things I follow, fewer that I support, fewer still that I’m involved in, and only a select few things that I truly am 100% invested in. The Future Leaders Program is one of those. The program has been amazing for me and has given me opportunities I never would have dreamed of (or even known about) only a year ago.
I am so thankful to the people who have poured into me throughout this year. It’s these people who were willing to take a chance on me and allow me to find my way to whom I’m truly grateful.
There’s not really a point to this other than to find movements you believe in. Effective ministry is rarely a program. It’s almost always a movement. Programs are things people do. Movements are things God does. Programs can become movements and movements can become programs.
I think that one of the most important jobs of a leader is to ensure that their ministry is a work of God and not of themselves. God is in the business of movements. He’s been creating one since the beginning of time.
does the FAIL movement count?
