How Do You Respond?

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”
-Matthew 13:44

“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”

-Revelation 3:15-17

We see verses like these. We read them. We might even be convicted by them.

But we don’t do anything. We stick to the status quo.

It’s easier.
It’s safer.

But it’s wrong.

There is no middle ground.
There is no compromise.
There is no lukewarmness.

It’s just not an option.

I want to respond the right way. I’m not so sure I’m doing a great job of it though. I desperately need God to help me.

How are you going to respond?

Good question, and I think it’s one that we need to revisit daily. I think that our relationship with God must be fueled by an insatiable desperation or we begin to slide into complacency.

Thanks for blogging. I always really appreciate your thoughts!
