I saw this while bike riding the other day…not sure whether to laugh or what…

(Note…I blurred the name of the church to protect the innocent ;) )

Welcome to the new ryanspilhaus.com! I’m super proud of this, because I did all the graphics and coded it from the ground up (albeit with some tutorial help, but hey! Spent the past week staying up super late to get this up and running, and I’m really happy with it.

Be sure to check out the new About and Portfolio pages!

Let me know what you think!!! (and if you find anything broken!)

(PS…if you’re reading this in an email or RSS reader, go to www.RyanSpilhaus.com to see the new site!)

So the past few nights I’ve been up SUPER late.

I’ve been working on random personal projects and I just hit my stride and can’t stop working.

Definitely hard on the sleep, but good news, tomorrow is the weekend so I can sleep as long as I want ;)

The funny thing is that I’m definitely a morning person (provided I get a decent night’s sleep). I don’t drink coffee, and I’m up and ready to go after 30 minutes and a shower.

I guess I’m not an afternoon person. The hours of 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm aren’t anywhere near as creative or productive as the ones prior or after that.

When are you most productive or creative? Am I the only one that looks forward to staying up super late to work on stuff?

I’m on a roll! I love creating these fan pages on Facebook, since they’re pretty unique, and honestly they’re kind of fun.

Anyhow, I created one for Frontline Silver Spring the other day.

Frontline Silver Spring is doing a great job right on the outskirts of DC in one of the cooler areas in the Metro area. Seriously, if you haven’t been down there, you OWE it to yourself to check it out. And while you’re there, check out Sabrosa, this little Peruvian grill right across from the Round House Theatre (where we hold Frontline Silver Spring).

But I digress…This was a pretty simple page to create, and it’s got a fun trick: an embedded video.

Most of the video you see on facebook fan pages link to a video hosted elsewhere, but with a little bit of FBML (facebook markup language) you can actually semi-embed video. You have to insert an image that people will click on, but then after they’ve clicked on it the video will be right there.

Anyhow, go check it out. www.facebook.com/frontlinesilverspring
Note: If you’re already a fan, you’ll have to click the Welcome tab. Facebook won’t let you default to a non-wall page for people who are already fans

UPDATE: I felt so inspired that I went ahead and created one for the Prince William Campus as well… check it out at www.facebook.com/frontlineprincewilliam.

I like Google Analytics. It’s pretty sweet. One of my favorite things to do is look at what people are searching for to find the different sites I run it on.

I thought this was kind of funny ;)
